SUBVERT... the story so far...

Formed by Zul and Chuan in Dec 1999, Subvert's sole mission is to organise parties that pushed the sounds of drum ‘n’ bass into the collective eardrums of the Singapore clubbing consciousness. Championing a sound and culture - which was not represented by the mainstream - is indeed a hard task but they were well up for the challenge.

Designing Subvert to give themselves - as well as other like-minded individuals - a platform to showcase the sounds of the underground, Subvert have continually sought to spread the junglistic gospel by holding one-off parties at various venues (winning local and international acclaim along the way).

At the same time, they worked hard to showcase the finest of UK talents - Aphrodite, Friction and Stamina MC, Pendulum, London Elektricity and John B - to the ever-eager Singaporean punters.
In between all that - Subvert have also taken their sound to places like Hong Kong, Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur and Macau.

Their Subversive parties - presided over by a revolving door DJ policy of Zul, dimbob, chuan, Aresha, Ajay and Vortex - is fast becoming the stuff of legends. Ask any regular and they'll tell you that in most instances, the vibe is hot and the dance floor’s heaving with a mix of trendies, hip-hoppers, skankers and rude boys - all congregating religiously for their dose of killer basslines. No matter how deep, hard, bass heavy or mental the residents (and their assortment of guests) go - the crowd laps up every little sonic morsel.

Oh, their occasional jaunts in places like Phuture (Zouk), Home and Lola (Centro Singapore) have been getting rave reviews as well!

Not about to stop or change what they're doing just because someone disapproves or can't be bothered to get their heads round it. Get yourself into the Subvert funk, you just might find yourself pleasantly surprised!
